I help you understand your dog and build a relationship that works in real life

The Partnership Approach

You love your dog, but sometimes it feels like you're speaking two different languages. Maybe you've tried mainstream training methods that didn't feel right, or you're tired of the constant power struggle.

I'm here to help you break those old patterns and build a relationship based on cooperation instead of coercion, with simple, effective solutions that help you reach your training goals together.

Why This Works

Most training focuses primarily on the dog. I focus on you.

I coach you to understand your dog's unique language, provide the support and clarity they need, and learn how to communicate in a way that makes sense to both of you.

Because training isn't just about getting your dog to follow a cue. It's about learning how to work together.

Meet Your Trainer & Supportive Coach

Hi, I'm Jessica.

I've spent over 15 years working with dogs and their people. My journey began as a dog walker and pet sitter before moving into dog daycare management, where I developed positive reinforcement, force free training programs.

Today, I'm a CPDT-KA Certified Positive Reinforcement Trainer, Service Dog Coach and Fear Free Certified professional. I've also mentored under behaviour consultants specializing in aggression, reactivity and anxiety, and trained with professionals specializing in skill development and technical training.

But the most important thing I've learned is this:

The most effective training is centered on connection and your relationship with your dog.

When your dog feels supported, learning new skills and working together becomes much easier.

I've also learned that people rarely struggle because they don't have enough information. They struggle because they don't have the right support to understand what to do, apply it consistently and adjust when life gets messy.

That's why I built Connected Canine.

What We'll Work On Together

Clear Communication
Learn to read your dog's communication and respond in ways that build trust and understanding.

Understanding Your Dog
Learn what your dog needs from you and why they behave the way they do, so you can make better decisions in real life.

Breaking Old Patterns
Identify the patterns that may be getting in the way of your goals and learn new ways to approach them.

Sustainable Progress
Build practical skills and strategies that fit into your actual life, so you can keep making progress when things don't go perfectly.

Training isn't about being perfect. It's about having the right support, clear direction and a plan that makes sense for you and your dog.

I'm here to help you bridge the gap between knowing what to do and actually seeing it work in your real life.

Because real training isn't just about sit and stay.

It's about creating connection and getting real results that last.
